Zalman CNPS7700-Cu - divovsko bakreno cvijeće

- Instalacija i kompatibilnost -

Kao i kod većine hladnjaka namijenjenih overclockiranju i kod Zalmana 7700-Cu postoji problem kompatibilnosti sa određenim matičnim pločama. Dimenzije hladnjaka su poprilične - visok je 67 milimetara, a pri vrhu širok 136 milimetara što ga čini jednim od najvećih hladnjaka koje smo imali prilike vidjeti. Zbog svoje širine CNPS7700-Cu zahtijeva ploču na kojoj je utor za procesor smješten relativno daleko od ostalih komponenti te od gornjeg ruba same ploče. Listu kompatibilnih, odnosno nekompatibilnih ploča možete pronaći ovdje, no imajte na umu da su u nekim slučajevima Zalmanovi inžinjeri pogriješili. Konkretno, radi se o kompatibilnosti sa Abitovom KV8-MAX3 matičnom pločom koja je dio našeg testnog sistema. Ploča je prema Zalmanu nekompatibilna sa CNPS-om 7700, no prema našim iskustvima to nije istina. Hladnjak smo na ploču instalirali bez ikakvih problema. Doduše, oko hladnjaka nema baš previše mjesta, ali jedno je sigurno - ne dodiruje niti jednu drugu komponentu.

Ipak ima nade za KV8-MAX3

Još jedna negativna karakteristika CNPS-a 7700-Cu je velika masa - čak 918 grama što je dva puta više od maksimalne dopuštene mase hladnjaka koju preporučuju AMD i Intel. Naravno, nije sve tako crno. Ako je vaša matična ploča dobro pričvršćena za kućište (sa više od četiri vijka) i ako ne transportirate svoje računalo kao da je vreća krumpira, problema ne bi trebalo biti.

Nakon ugradnje hladnjaka na matičnu ploču valja ga i upogoniti. Postoje dva načina na koji ovaj hladnjak može primati električnu energiju koja mu je potrebna za rad. Prvi način je da hladnjak priključimo direktno na matičnu ploču što znači da će cijelo vrijeme raditi punom brzinom. Ovo nije loša ideja ako vam je hlađenje bitnije od buke. Drugi način je da za ventilator na napajanje priključimo preko kontrolera pod imenom FanMate 2. Riječ je o crnoj plastičnoj kutijici na prilično dugom kabelu u kojoj se nalazi potenciometar s kojim kontroliramo jakost struje kojom se napaja ventilator. Što je struja slabija to se ventilator sporije vrti, generira manju buku i slabije hladi. Naravno, ako struju pojačamo vrijedi obrnuto. S obzirom na to da je FanMate 2 spojen na prilično dug kabel, možete ga provesti van kućišta. Još bolje - Zalman je u paket opreme koji dolazi sa hladnjakom stavio i komad obostrano ljepljive trake koja služi za pričvršćivanje FanMatea 2 na kućište.

Vid' ga što je lijep, ljubi ga majka

Ehem, mi smo se raspričali o instalaciji, a nismo uopće komentirali dizajn hladnjaka. Vrijeme je da to ispravimo.

Priča ide nekako ovako. Glavni štos sa Zalmanovim hlanjacima serije 7xxx je njihov famozni dizajn koji podsjeća na cvijet. U sredini "cvijeta" nalazi se ventilator, a oko njega plašt od tankih, zbijenih listića metala (bakra ili aluminija, zavisno o modelu) koji svojom velikom površinom omogućavaju odličnu disipaciju topline. Kao što smo već napomenuli, ventilator ugrađen na CNPS7700 ima promjer od 120 milimetara, a ima brzinu između 1000 i 2000 okretaja po minuti. Što se tiče tipa ventilatora, riječ je ball-bearing ventilatoru. Ball-bearing ventilatori se inače ugrađuju u napajanja i hladnjake koje rabe OEM proizvođači računala. Razlog? Kad ball-bearing ventilator počne "umirati", kuglični ležajevi u njegovoj unutrašnjosti počinju "cviljeti" što upozorava korisnika na to da treba zamijeniti ventilator.

Baza hladnjaka je adekvatno ispolirana

Donji dio hladnjaka koji dodiruje sam procesor je solidno ispoliran. Ne radi se baš o zrcalu, ali za hlađenje procesora će poslužiti. Kad smo već kod donje strane hladnjaka bilo bi zgodno spomenuti jedan feature koji nismo spomenuli kad smo pričali o instalaciji hladnjaka. Dok su kod starijeg modela CNPS7000A-Cu držači pomoću kojeg se hladnjak pričvršćivao na postolje bili ugrađeni na sam hladnjak, kod modela 7700 oni se na hladnjak dodaju ručno i to zavisno o platformi na kojoj ćemo ga rabiti. Premda ovo malo komplicira instalaciju, moramo priznati da je krajnji rezultat elegantiji nego kod starijeg modela.
