- Odabir terapije -

Prvi poriv nam je bio da karticu damo profesionalcima na popravak, no taj zadatak se pokazao vrlo teško ostvarivim - naime, većina informatičkih servisa u lijepoj našoj ne popravlja ništa, već neispravne komponente jednostavno zamjenjuju novim :( Ako problem sa računalnom komponentom pokušate riješiti uz pomoć servisa koji popravlja neki drugi tip elektroničke komponente očekuje vas druga krajnost - čim spomenete da se radi o grafičkoj kartici vjerojatno će vam zalupiti vrata pred nosom jer oni ne popravljaju kompjutere! Nema veze što inače rade sa SMT komponentama - računalne dijelove ne žele ni vidjeti… Jedini opremljen odgovarajućim alatom i dovoljnom dozom strpljenja se pokazao servis poduzeća M San, no nakon što su izrazili poveću dozu skepticizma u uspješan oporavak, odlučili smo ipak prvo sami pokušati razriješiti problem. U dosadašnjim razgovorima sa prijateljima, kolegama, serviserima i drugim stručnjacima, te slučajnim prolaznicima svi su predlagali istu terapiju: preciznom lemilicom zalotati tanke žice između konektora i komponente koje su prekinuti vodovi povezivali. Ovo rješenje nam se nije svidjelo jer je zahtijevalo vrlo precizne radove koji bi lako završili još većom štetom. Umjesto toga u glavi nam se formirala druga ideja: povezivanje prekinutih vodova uz pomoć tekućeg srebra, tj. docrtavanje vodova tamo gdje ih više nema. Ideju smo dobili zahvaljujući bočici tekućeg srebra koju posjedujemo još iz doba spajanja prekinutih mostova na starim AMD procesorima radi promjene množitelja. Većina kolega kojima smo prezentirali ovu ideju je izrazila skepticizam o uspješnoj realizaciji, no tvrdoglavi kakvi jesmo odlučili smo ih ignorirati i raditi po svom.

Operacija je počela primjenom metode pokušaj-pogreška. Prvi korak je bio skidanje laka sa vodova koje želimo povezati u neposrednoj blizini prekida kako bi ostvarili električnu vodljivost između vodova i srebra. Nakon toga smo pokušali spojiti vodove sa kistom namočenim u tekuće srebro, no vodovi su se pokazali pretankim za iscrtavanje bilo kakvim kistom, a tekuće srebro je pri tome pokazivalo nevjerojatnu sposobnost da se nađe svugdje osim tamo gdje treba… U prvom pokušaju smo savladali još jednu vještinu neophodnu za uspješan nastavak radova - brisanje srebra nakon neuspjelog pokušaja kako bi krenuli ispočetka. Za to smo koristili razrjeđivač i štapiće za uši. Slijedeća metoda je uključivala lijepljenje naljepnice uz oba ruba voda na kojem radimo koje bi usmjeravale srebro i spriječile razlijevanje. Pokazalo se da nije svejedno niti koje naljepnice koristimo, a najbolje su nam se pokazale metalizirane naljke sa logotipom AMD Athlon XP koje dolaze uz procesore, a namijenjene su lijepljenju na kućište računala. Karakterizira ih dobro ljepilo sa minimalnim podlijevanjem na rubovima, a istovremeno ih nije problem ukloniti, te ne upijaju boju tj. u ovom slučaju srebro. Usput smo morali riješiti još jedan problem, rupa koju je napravio odvijač je bila toliko duboka da se u njoj srebro redovno nakupljalo i podlijevalo ispod naljepnice, te izazivalo kratak spoj između vodova. Kako bi spriječili podlijevanje, rupu smo zapunili sa bojom namijenjenom farbanju modela koju smo koristili bez dodatnog razrjeđivanja. Iako smo primjenom navedenih postupaka polučili solidne rezultate, tj. da smo trebali pokrpati samo jedan vod u tome bi definitivno uspjeli, oba voda nismo nikako uspjeli povezati bez da ih međusobno kratko spojimo.

Jedan od mnogih pokušaja iscrtavanja voda maskiranjem okoline koju ne želimo posrebriti
