Coolermaster Hyper 6+ - grdosija čudnog kova

Kao i originalni Hyper 6, novi je Coolermasterov hladnjak baziran na tehnologiji toplinskih cijevi (heatpipeova) koja omogućava brži prijenos topline između toplijeg i hladnijeg dijela hladnjaka. Na sličan je način ponovo iskorišten "izvučeni" dizajn što će reći da je Hyper 6+ u prvom redu jako visok, a ne toliko širok hladnjak. Kao i većina današnjih hladnjaka namijenjenih entuzijastima, Hyper 6+ je moguće ugraditi na sve moderne procesore, bilo da je riječ o procesorima u Socket A, Socket 754, Socket 939, Socket 940, Socket 478 ili pak LGA775 pakiranju.

Impozantna veličina nije toliko očigledna na ovoj fotki

U odnosu na Hyper 6, novi hladnjak ima nešto veće gabarite. Povećanje veličine bilo je nužno zbog promjene materijala od kojeg je načinjeno tijelo hladnjaka te ugradnje većeg ventilatora zbog smanjivanja buke. Dok je orginalni Hyper 6 bio u potpunosti izrađen od bakra, kod novog su hladnjaka samo baza i toplinske cijevi načinjene od ovog materijala. Cijeli gornji dio, zapravo glavnina tijela hladnjaka, načinjen je od aluminija. Budući da aluminij teže disipira toplinu od bakra, otuda i potreba za povećanjem disipativne površine odnosno dimenzija hladnjaka. Gornji, aluminijski dio hladnjak načinjen je od tankih pločica koje su nanizane na toplinske cijevi. Dok je zadatak toplinskih cijevi brzo odvođenje topline s procesora, zadatak aluminijskih pločica i ventilatora je da toplinu s cijevi prenesu na okolni zrak.

"Lističasti" dizajn u prvom planu

U svrhu smanjivanja buke uz održavanje jednakih mogućnosti hlađenja, Coolermaster je na hladnjak ugradio veći ventilator. Vlasnici Hypera 6 ili pak čitatelji s dobrim pamćenjem, znaju da je na stariji hladnjak bio ugrađen 80-milimetarski ventilator. Hyper 6+ pak koristi 100-milimetarski ventilator s plavim led osvjetljenjem koji se vijcima ugrađuje na stranicu hladnjaka. Ventialtor od 100 mm? Ne, nema nikakve zabune. Coolermasterovi inženjeri su iz samo sebi poznatog razloga na ovom hladnjaku odlučili rabiti ventilator nestandardne veličine. U slučaju da hladnjak iz nekog razloga želite zamijeniti ili pak na drugu stranu hladnjaka želite dodati još jedan ventilator radi boljeg hlađenja, učiniti ćete to vrlo teško. Naime, čak ni sam Coolermaster u svojoj ponudi ne drži 100-milimetarske ventilatore.

S obzirom na veći promjer ventilatora, Coolermaster uz Hyper 6+ nije priložio kontroler za određivanje njegove brzine. Premda je ovakav pristup u neku ruku logičan, nama se ipak više sviđa dodatna fleksibilnost koju daje ručna kontrola brzine. Drugima riječima - još jedan minus je tu.

Bakrena baza s ugrađenim nosačem za K8 procesore

Kao što rekli, baza hladnjaka i toplinske cijevi su izrađeni od bakrene legure. Baza je kružnog oblika što je sasvim ok budući da se jezgra nalazi u sredini procesora svakog procesora. Sama završna obrada baze je mogla biti bolja budući da je moguće vidjeti "bore" od poliranja. Uz to, poliranje je izvedeno linearno, a ne kružno kao što bi se moglo pretpostaviti s obzirom na kružni oblik baze. U bazu je zavareno ukupno šest toplinskih cijevi u obliku slova "J" na koje je nataknut gornji dio tijela hladnjaka.
