Testiranje Coolermasterovog hladnjaka izveli smo u vrijeme kada je Athlon 64 X2 još uvijek bio u našim rukama. Testiranje je obavljeno na konfiguraciji bez kućišta u prostoriji bez klimatizacije tijekom jednog od vrućih ljetnih dana. Ambientalna temperatura je bila "ugodnih" 31 stupanj cezijusa. S obzirom da uz hladnjak nije isporučen kontroler za određivanje brzine ventilatora, on se cijelo vrijeme vrtio na najnižoj brzini. Naime, ventilator ima 4-pinski konektor za spajanje na matičnu ploču no moguće ga je rabiti i na klasičnom 3-pinskom konektoru.

Ako je hladnjak priključen na veći konektor koji možemo naći na novijim pločama za Intelove procesore, tada ima promjenljivu brzinu koju kontrolira PWM funkcija. Ako je pak "zakačen" na manji konektor, cijelo vrijeme radi na minimalnoj brzini. Naravno, izuzetak su matične ploče s 3-pinskim konektorima koje imaju neki sistem za automatsku prilagodbu brzine ventilatora. Tada ventilator na ovakvim pločama također ima promjenjivu brzinu vrtnje. Naša je testna ploča imala klasični, manji konektor, ali i dodatni sistem za regulaciju brzine ventilatora. Mi smo ovu funciju u BIOS-u isključili pa je ventilator tijekom testiranja radio na minimalnoj brzini od 1.800 rpm. Maksimalna brzina ventilatora je pak oko 3.600 rpm.

Kao što vidimo, Coolermasterov novi hladnjak pri najmanjoj brzini ima jednake performanse kao i originalni Hyper 6. Doduše, jednake performanse uz manju buku su defintivan plus ako se nas pita što ovaj hladnjak definitno čini naprednijim od starijeg modela. Naravno, ako posjedujete neku od ploča za Intelove procesore koje na sebi imaju 4-pinski konektor za ventilator, performanse ovog hladnjaka biti će mnogo bolje, ali jasno je da s većom brzinom raste i razina generirane buke.

Premda bi se omjer buke i performansi ovog hladnjaka mogao još više smanjiti ugradnjom kakvog kvalitetnijeg ventilatora, to nažalost nije opcija na koju možemo računati. 100-milimetarski ventilatori su vrlo čudna "roba" tako da je zamjena ventilatora moguća samo uz improvizacije.

Zaključak

Coolermaster je s novom verzijom Hypera definitvno ostvario svoj cilj - očuvanje jednakih performansi u odnosu na stariji model uz istovremeno snižavanje buke hladnjaka. Premda ovo isprva zvuči odlično, valja napomenuti da Hyper 6+ zbog nestandardne veličine ventilatora i odsustva ručne kontrole brzine ventilatora sa sobom donosi i osjetno smanjenje fleksibilnosti koja je draga svim entuzijastima. Sve u svemu, ovo je vrlo efikasan i dobar hladnjak za one koji žele odlično hlađenje uz nisku razinu buke, ali bez dodatnih opcija koje vole imati overclockeri i entuzijasti. Da je Coolermaster na hladnjak omogućio ugradnju standardnih hladnjaka ili da je pak u paketu priložio potenciometar za ručnu kontrolu brzine, naš bi dojam bio bolji. Ovako nam se čini da je stariji Hyper 6 ipak nešto bolji izbor za sve one koji vole prčkati po svom sistemu.

Pozitivno + Izvrsno hlađenje uz nisku razinu buke. Relativno jednostavna instalacija s obzirom na dizajn matičnih ploča budući da tijelo hladnjaka toliko široko.
Negativno - Komplicirana instalacija. Velike dimenzije ograničavaju primjenu na svim računalima. Ne dolazi s ručnom kontrolom brzine. Nestandardna veličina ventilatora smanjuje mogućnost naknadne modifikacije ili pak zamjene ventilatora u slučaju kvara.
