Hladnjak

Tehnologija toplinskih cijevi je prisutna i na ovom hladnjaku, dva komada se brinu o brzom transferu topline s baze hladnjaka na bakreni cvijet. Unutar njega se nalazi ventilator promjera 80mm koji uspješno raspršuje nakupljenu toplinu.

Ogledalce, ogledalce...

Završna obrada baze hladnjaka je izvanredna, u nedostatku ogledala može poslužiti boljoj polovici za čupanje obrva ili slične radnje. Toplinske cijevi su dobro pozicionirane i njihov promjer ulijeva povjerenje. Metalni križ koji se nalazi ispod baze hladnjaka ima na sebi po četiri rupe u koje se pričvršćuju vijci, a izbor rupe ovisi o grafičkoj kartici na koju se montira hladnjak. Kraći, poprečni držači služe za istu svrhu, a odluka koju rupu izabrati je detaljno objašnjena u samom manualu.

Razina buke: 18,5 ~ 25.0dB

Kao što se i vidi iz specifikacija, razina deklarirane buke je izrazito niska, pogotovo na najnižem broju okretaja. U praksi to znači gotovo bešuman rad, tek prislanjanjem uha blizu ventilatora (ne preblizu) se čuje lagani šum koji on proizvodi u radu. Na maksimalnom broju okretaja taj šum je nešto više izražen, ali bez neugodnih zvukova ili iritirajuće buke ležajeva. Samo lagani šum, koji će većina korisnika proglasiti nepostojećim.

Kikiriki, koštice, karte mađarice...

Daljnjim raskopavanjem kutije pronalazimo Zalmanovu naljepnicu za kućište, termalnu pastu, hladnjake za memoriju, upute za montažu, regulator brzine ventilatora (Fan Mate), vijke i njihove podloške, kao i ljepljivu podlošku za pričvršćivanje regulatora brzine.

Regulator brzine ventilatora je poznati Zalmanov proizvod koji se može pronaći uz skoro svaki njihov hladnjak, a postao je poznat u njihovim izvedbama hladnjaka za procesore. Naponski priključak ventilatora se ne ukapča na samu grafičku karticu, već na regulator, a on ima standardni tropinski priključak za matičnu ploču pa treba voditi računa o slobodnom konektoru na samoj ploči. Ovo bi moglo izazvati pomutnju u nekim driverima i softveru grafičkih kartica, koji bi mogli prijavljivati kvar na ventilatoru pa treba voditi računa i o tome.

Ježurka Ježić, glavom i ljepilom

Pasivni hladnjaci se na memoriju pričvršćuju samoljepljivom podloškom i pružaju adekvatno hlađenje za nju, a brojka od osam komada je dostatna za bilo koji model grafičke kartice. Jedan ventilator u kućištu koji bi stvarao lagano strujanje zraka preko ovih pasivnih hladnjaka bi bio odlično rješenje, iako i sam ventilator na hladnjaku stvara lagane zračne struje u svojoj blizini koje pospješuju odvođenje topline s ovih pasivaca.

Dijelovi za montažu

Nakon utvrđivanja modela grafičke kartice i pronalaska odgovarajuće rupe, s čim i manje iskusniji korisnici neće imati problema, krećemo na montažu. Ali, prvo je potrebno montirati pasivne hladnjake za memoriju na što se gubi cijelih 60s vremena. Dovoljno je odlijepiti zaštitnu foliju s donjeg dijela pasivnog hladnjaka i prilijepiti ga na memorijske čipove.

Ogoljeni Radeon X1900XTX

Ovaj put dokopali smo se grafičke kartice koja će predstavljati pravi izazov za našeg junaka - ATI Radeon X1900XTX je trenutno prvak u zagrijavanju. Temperature ovog grafičkog procesora nerijetko dosežu i 90°C pa je to pravi izazov za VF900 hladnjak. Montaža hladnjaka se svodi na svega par koraka, dovoljno je pričvrstiti vijke na metalni križ, postaviti gumene podloške između vijaka i PCB-a grafičke kartice, postaviti hladnjak na GPU (prethodno ga namazati termalnom pastom) i s zadnje strane prišarafiti velike palčane vijke s oprugom. I između njih i PCB-a se postavljaju plastični umeci, a opruga, s jedne strane i elastični gumeni podlošci s druge, su dovoljna zaštita protiv oštećenja jezgre. Sve spremno za start

Inače krupan i masivan Radeon X1900XTX s tvorničkim hladnjakom izgleda ogromno, nakon Zalmaniranja njegove dimenzije i težina poprimaju sasvim drugi red veličine. Način montaže hladnjaka i njegova pozicija na kartici omogućavaju ventilatoru hladnjaka da hladi ne samo grafički procesor, već i okolne komponente na kartici, uključujući i memorijske čipove.

Pogled s druge strane

Iako to kod X1900XTX kartice ne igra ulogu, treba uzeti u obzir da nakon montaže ovog hladnjaka utor ispod grafičke kartice postaje neupotrebljiv (PCI ili PCI-e). U ovom slučaju, tvornički dual-slot hladnjak ionako zauzima taj prostor tako da kod montaže na ovaj i slične modele grafičkih kartica ne gubite ništa. Vrijeme je da se pozabavimo rezultatima testiranja i provjerimo koji su dobici s ovim modelom hladnjaka.
