Kao što vidimo prema specifikacijama, Foxconnova ploča je prilično dobro opremljena. Osim Intelovog ICH7R southbridgea koji ima četiri SATA i jedan IDE kanal s podrškom za RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 5 i Matrix RAID, tu su još dodatni SATA kontroler Silicon Imagea, dvijem gigabitne mrežne kartice te čip za Firewire. Sve u svemu vrlo dobra oprema ako je namjeravate koristiti.

Raspored komponenti na PCB-u Foxconnove ploče je vrlo dobar. ATX konektor je postavljen na rubu ploče tako da kabel ne opstruira zrak u kućištu, a do njega su IDE konektor kao i floppy konektor. Dodatni 8-pinski konektor za napajanje ploče je postavljen u sredini ploče što nije idealno, ali obzirom da se radi o relativno tankom kabelu, to i nije toliki problem. Prostor oko socketa za procesor je relativno čist tako da ne bi smjelo biti problema pri instalaciji većih hladnjaka. Mi smo pri testiranju rabili Zalman CPNS9500AT, prilično velik hladnjak, a instalirali smo ga vrlo lako.

Razmak između memorije i utora za grafičku karticu je respektabilan, tako da s čačkanjem po memoriji u potpuno složenom računalu neće biti problema.

Neoubičajena pozicija dodatnog SATA konektora

Dodatni SATA kanali implementirani su dosta neuobičajeno. Naime, kontroler je postavljen blizu I/O backpanela ploče kako bi na njega mogao biti izveden jedan SATA konektor. Drugi, interni SATA konektor je postavljen blizu I/O backpanela što će stvoriti probleme pri razvođenju SATA kabela koji nisu toliko dugi kao IDE ili SCSI kabeli. Korištenje vanjskog i unutarnjeg konektora također znači da na ovom kontroleru nećete moći rabiti RAID polje, no to u praksi ne bi trebao biti problem s obzirom da je ICH7R za kreiranje RAID polja ionako mnogo bolji izbor. Vanjski SATA konektor dakako ima i svoje prednosti s obzirom da je na njega moguće priključiti SATA hub na kojeg možemo priključivati vanjske diskove. Dakako, ovo je vrlo specifična funkcija koju većina korisnika vjerojatno neće iskoristiti.

I/O backpanel sadrži sve konektore koje kontroleri ove ploče mogu ponuditi. Jedini izuzetak je serijski konektor koji većini ljudi ne treba, no oni kojima treba zaista ne mogu bez njega.

Matična ploča nudi po dva PCI-E x1, PCI-E x16 i PCI utora što je sasvim ok raspored s obzirom na to koliko ljudi koristi PCI i PCI-E x1 kartice. Čipovi koji čine centralnu logiku na ploči su hlađeni, s tim da je southbridge hlađen pasivno, a northbridge aktivno. Premda hladnjak na northbridgeu proizvodi određenu dozu buke, prema našim iskustvima on je nužan za postizanje dobrih rezultata pri overclockanju.

FOX ONE čip koji omogućava funkcije istoimenog alata u Windowsima

Tik do memorije smješten je Foxconnov FOX ONE čip koji omogućava kontroliranje overclockerskih parametara putem istoimenog alata u Windowsima. Ovaj čip također omogućava nadzor temperature te brzine ventilatora. Ako je za vjerovati informacijama u priručniku, čip bi s naprednim mogućnostim regulacije napona na kompoentama trebao omogućiti bolje rezultate overclockanja.

BIOS se inače resetira putem jumpera koji je smješten na vrlo pristupačno mjesto, blizu ruba ploče, tako da neće biti blokiran ako je instalirana kakva glomazna grafička kartica. Sama kapica na jumpera ima maleni produžetak (već viđeno na ABIT-ovim pločama) što olakšava resetiranje BIOS-a. Napredne dijagnostike grešaka pri bootanju nažalost nema, no ipak treba spomenuti sistem koji osnovne probleme indicira preko Power ledice na kućištu (npr. da nije instaliran CPU ili memorija).
