Kingmax DDR3 2x 2GB 1600 MHz

- Uvod i opis -
Od predstavljanja prvih matičnih ploča koje podržavaju DDR3 prošlo je dosta vremena, ali sama DDR3 memorija još uvijek nije dovoljno pojeftinila da bi postala zanimljiva široj grupi korisnika. Tome se ne treba čuditi obzirom da je za isti novac u najgorem slučaju moguće kupiti dva puta više DDR2 memorije nego DDR3 memorije. Ipak, ima i onih koji će se ipak odlučiti za novi tip memorije, što zbog dodatnih performansi, što zbog mogućnosti overclockiranja, što zbog toga što Intelov nadolazeći procesor s integriranim memorijskim kontrolerom neće podržavati DDR2. To nas dovodi do teme našeg najnovijeg testa, a to je par 1600-megahercnih modula ukupnog kapaciteta 4 gigabajta koje na sebi nose oznake tvrtke Kingmax, proizvođača memorije koji je prilično renomiran na ovim našim prostorima.

Obzirom da smo memoriju dobili direktno iz tvornice, ne možemo mnogo reći o njezinom maloprodajnom pakiranju, no u dućane će se vjerojatno isporučivati zapakirana u prozirne plastične blistere, kao i sve ostale Kingmaxove memorije. Također treba napomenuti da smo dobili dvije pločice memorije, no prilično smo sigurni da se memorija neće prodavati u kitovima od dva jednaka DIMM-a već će svaki biti potrebno kupiti posebno. To dakako ima negativan utjecaj na kompatibilnost i overclockiranje obzirom da dva modula nazivno istih specifikacija mogu pripadati različitim serijama, no što je tu je.

Kao što vidimo, moduli su oklopljeni s glomaznim crnim hladnjacima. Oni su načinjeni od aluminija i vrlo su jednostavno konstruirani. Konkretno, hladnjaci se sastoje od dva dijela - većeg na kojem se nalaze finovi i jedna stranica koja naliježe na memorijsku pločicu te manjeg koji naliježe na drugu stranu memorijske pločice. Dva su dijela hladnjaka zajedno fiksirana pomoću vijaka. Nažalost, na našim preprodukcijskim primjercima hladnjak na jedan modul nije bio najbolje pričvršćen pa je modul ispadao iz oklopa. Zamjerku također upučujemo na trakicu sa specifikacijama koja je zalijepljena na hladnjak. U prvom redu na njoj nedostaju neke rudimentalne informacije kao što su tvornički garantirane latencije te napon koji je za njih potreban. Drugi problem je to što se papirić na jednom od modula odljepljivao. Opet, obzirom da je riječ o pretprodukcijskim primjercima, na ove propuste možemo zažmiriti na jedno oko.

Sigurno se pitate što se nalazi pod "haubom" Kingmaxove memorije. Iako smo navikli da Kingmax na svojim memorijama rabi vlastite memorijske čipove, čini se da je 1600-megahercni DDR3 ipak malo previše za R&D mogućnosti ove kompanije. Naime, na pločice su ugrađeni Micronovi D9GTS čipovi koje rabe i mnogi drugi proizvođači memorija, pogotovo oni koji izrađuju module za entuzijaste.

Rekli smo da etikete na modulima ne sadrže dovoljno informacija da bi korisnik mogao upogoniti memoriju na optimalnoj postavkama. Isti je slučaj s postavkama zapisanim u samu memoriju. Kao što vidimo dostupne su samo JEDEC-ove standarne i vrlo konzervativne vrijednosti i to za taktove od 888, 1186 i 1334 MHz. Obzirom da se samo posljednji takt zaista rabi u praksi, to je ujedno i vrijednost na kojoj će memorija proraditi automatski.

Kad nam je Kingmaxova memorija stigla na testiranje, još uvijek nije bila dostupna u trgovinama niti su o njoj bile dostupne ikakve informacije na službenoj web stranici proizvođača. Srećom, to više nije tako pa je na Kingmaxovim stranicama moguće vidjeti da bi testirana memorija trebala raditi s latencijama CAS 7-7-7 na taktu od 1600 MHz i uz napon između 1,7 i 1,9 volta (standardni napon DDR3 memorije je 1,5 volta). Možda nije naodmet napomenuti da memorija s Kingmaxovih stranica i memorija koja smo mi testirali nemaju identične oznake. Memorija s web stranice ima oznaku FLGE85F-B8MF7 dok se na našoj nalazi nešto slično - FLGE85F-B8MA9. Drugim riječima, riječ je o nazivno istoj memoriji, no prema oznaci se može zaključiti da je naš testni primjerak stariji.

Da bi memorija proradila na 1600 megaherca mora biti ispunjen jedan od dva uvjeta. Ako rabimo Intelov čipset, FSB mora biti podešen na 400 MHz, bilo overclockiranjem, bilo korištenjem procesora s ovakvom brzinom sabirnice. Ako je memorija ugrađena u Nvidijin čipset, jednostavno ju je potrebno podesiti na takt od 1600 MHz putem BIOS-a obzirom da nForce čipseti nude fleksibilnije omjere takta memorije i prednje sabirnice.
