Compro VideoMate Live je proizvod koji će danas teško naći svoga kupca. u stanju je snimati samo analogan TV program, što i ne bi bila tolika mana da je recenziran još prije par godina. Budućnost je u digitalnoj televiziji i za cijenu jednog ovakvog tunera moguće je nabaviti hibridni tip. Nadalje, kvaliteta slike je relativno loša i vidjeli smo proizvode koji su imali puno bolji prijam. Hot plug bug još dodatno zagorčava okus u ustima, pa je mali bučan ventilator najmanje bitna stvar na cijelom popisu negativnih strana.

Doduše, nije baš sve loše u vezi ovog tunera. Daljinski upravljač je vrlo solidan, dizajn uređaja je dobar, a ComproPVR aplikacija dobro obavlja sve ono što se od nje traži, a i bundle je vrlo solidan. Iz svega viđenog možemo jedino zaključiti kako je VideoMate Live pogodan svim onim korisnicima koji imaju starije računalo (koje ne žele u bliskoj budućnosti nadograđivati) i kojima je bitno što više rasteretiti procesor.

Conclusion

Compro VideoMate Live is a product that will hardly find a way to the end user today. It can only record analogue TV in the time when digital TV is slowly emerging (and will replace the analogue transmission in the near future). If we had tested it a couple of years ago, it would have got a better mark. For the retail price of this tuner, you can get a hybrid one which supports both digital and analogue TV. Of course, the purpose of this tuner is to decrease the workload of the CPU. Today's CPUs are much more powerful than those which were launched 3 years ago (at that time, this tuner appeared on the market). Furthermore the picture quality is rather bad and we have seen better quality on other tuners. It appears that the tuner has a bad signal reception despite a very good fishbone antenna which we used during our testing. Another problem is a hot plug bug and we must nott forget the little noisy fan inside the VideoMate.

This prodct has some good sides too, for example the remote control is very good and we liked the stylish exterior of the tuner. ComproPVR software is stabile na very good, and the bundle is nice also. At the end we can only conclude that VideoMate Live is good for those users which have an older PC and don't want to upgrade it with a new multicore CPU.
