MSGW Aero Dragon & Fenix - Phenom II X4 u naletu

- MSGW Aero Dragon -
Aero Dragon računalo predstavlja pravu Dragon platformu koja se po definiciji treba sastojati od Phenom II X4 procesora, 790 čipseta i grafičke kartice serije HD4000. U Aero Dragon su ugrađeni Phenom II X4 940 procesor, Asusova M3A79-T ploča i moćna Asusova EAH4870X2 TOP grafička kartica. Sve je dakle na broju a prije nego krenemo dalje, pogledajmo sve specifikacije.

Iz našeg posljednjeg testa (MSGW Core Revolution), primjetili smo kako su se mnogu na forumu zakačili za kućište, pa će vjerojatno i ovaj puta biti dosta pokuda na izbor kućišta. Moramo napomenuti kako je ovo samo pokazno kućište i naravno da Aero Dragon ne dolazi samo u toj kombinaciji i možete ga dobiti u nekom kućištu iz M SAN-ove ponude. Kako bi osigurali dovoljno struje svim komponentama M SAN-ovci su u ovo računalo ugradili isto napajanje kao i u Core Revolution - Asus U-75HA snage 750W.

Krenuti ćemo od svakako najzanimljivijeg dijela ovog računala, a to je novi Phenom II X4 940 procesor. Proizveden je u 45nm proizvodnom procesu, ima više tranzistora od Core i7 procesora (758 milijuna), ali i manju površinu jezgre od prethodnika (258mm2). Za razliku od prethodnika, ima čak 308 milijuna tranzistora više koji gotovo svi otpadaju na ekstra 4MB L3 priručne memorije. Ovo povećanje L3 memorije je dobrodošao potez od strane AMD-a, jer je 2MB u prvom Phenomu evidentno bilo premalo. Ostatak hijerarhije priručne memorije se nije mijenjao - 64K + 64K L1 i 512KB L2 po jezgri. AMD svoju Quiet`n`Cool tehnologiju unaprijedio do treće razine, a na toj razini Phenomi II imaju čak četiri p-stanja (stari su imali dva) i mogu minimalno raditi na 800MHz. No, vratimo se mi našoj 940-tki. Ovaj procesor spada u skupinu Black Edition procesora, jer dolazi sa otključanim množiteljem koji pak dozvoljava igranje frekvencijom neovisno o baznom taktu (FSB). Tvornički je postavljen na množitelju 15x pri čemu kuca na 3.0GHz, a na korisniku je da otkrije koji množitelj i frekvenciju njegov procesor voli najviše. Hladnjak koji je bio zadužen za hlađenje 940-tke je vrlo solidni Asusov Triton 77 koji je tih u radu te adekvatno hladi čak i overclockirani procesor.

M SAN je za ovaj procesor, i za ovo računalo izabrao vrlo dobru i pri tom vrlo skupu Asusovu M3A79-T Deluxe ploču koja je bazirana na kombinaciji 790FX i SB750 logike. Uz sve što smo vidjeli ova ploča se pokazala kao dobar izbor za overclockiranje. BIOS je vrlo bogat i dozvoljava igranje sa mnoštvom opcija. Jedino smo bili zakinuti za jednu koja dokazano pomaže prilikom overclockinga - ACC. Na ovoj verziji BIOS-a ta opcija jednostavno nije htjela raditi, odnosno kada bi ju uključili ploča nije htjela bootati. M3A79-T ima 8+2 fazni dizajn napajanja, sve solid state kondenzatore, vrlo učinkovit rashladni sistem, podržava CrossFireX, te Asusove Express Gate i Precision Tweaker 2 tehnologije.

U računalo je bio ugrađeno ukupno 4 GB radne memorije, koja dolazi iz Kingstona (HyperX) a radi na 1066MHz pri CL5-5-5-20 latencijama. Grafička kartica je baš kao i u Core Revolution računalu bila Asus EAH4870X2 TOP/HTDI/2G.

Diskovni podsustav je činio jedan Western Digitalov disk iz Caviar Black serije. Kapactet diska je 1TB što je i više nego dovoljno za većinu današnjih potreba, bilo da na računalo instalirate puno igara ili spremate veliku količinu video materijala. Razlog zbog kojega smo zastali baš na tvrdom disku su kao što ćete vidjeti iz testova njegove vrlo dobre performanse.

I premda se AMD-ov AOD pokazao kao vrlo zgodan alat za overclocking, mi smo i dalje skloniji podešavanju svih parametara direktno iz BIOS-a. Osim nemogućnosti korištenja ACC-a, sve ostalo je savršeno funkcioniralo. Kako se pokazalo da je matična ploča u Fenix računalu vrlo ograničena po pitanju OC-a, tako smo i 920 i 940 procesore OC-ali sa ovim jačim modelom.

Kao što možete primjetiti, na ovoj se ploči učinkovitijim pokazao overclocking podizanjem brzine sabirnice nego množitelja. 920-tka je naprosto fantastična i nakon kratkog istraživanja maksimum smo joj pronašli na 3.738GHz. Napon je naravno morao biti prilično visok, čak 1.52V, no temperatura nije znatno porasla i procesor je bio vrlo stabilan i kroz dugotrajnije testove (4 sata OCCT-a). S druge strane 940 je svoj maksimum postigla na 3.614GHz pri samo 1.39V. Daljnje povećanje napona nije donijelo učinka, kao ni podizanje FSB-a. Vjerujemo kako bi sa ACC funkcijom uključenom uspjeli izvući znatno više. Kada nam jedan od primjeraka stigne u lab na detaljnu analizu, potruditi ćemo se pronaći stvarne granice ovih procesora.
