Gigabyte GeForce GTX275 Super Overclock

Da kartica u kutiji pripada Super Overclock seriji ne možete nikako fulati. Natpis na kutiji jednostavno vrišti. Uz to, tu su i ostale informacije o proizvodu te tehnologijama koje su korištene u njegovoj izradi. Na stražnjoj se strani kao i obično nalazi nešto više informacija relevantnih krajnjem korisniku.

Moramo priznati kako nas je budle razočarao. Uz ovakvu high-end gamersku karticu voljeli bi vidjeti i poneki naslov te još pokoju sitnicu, kakve drugi proizvođači znaju staviti uz proizvod. Bilo kako bilo, Gigabyte daje korisničke upute, CD sa driverima i aplikacijama, dva strujna Molex-na-6-pinova adaptera, DVI-I-na-VGA, HDMI-na-DVI-I konverter i interni SPDIF kabel.

Po vanjskom izgledu, ova se kartica (osim po naljepnici) na prvi pogled ne razlikuje od referentnog modela. No, kada ju malo pobliže pogledamo vidimo plavi PCB koji je karakterističan za Gigabyte, i za njihov UDV dizajn. O UDV dizajnu smo pisali ranije ali da ponovimo. UDV tehnologija je gotovo identična Ultra Durable 3 tehnologiji koju Gigabyte koristi pri izradi matičnih ploča. UDV podrazumjeva korištenje 2oz bakra unutar PCB-a, koji bi trebao donijeti nižu impedanciju te bolju disipaciju topline. Druga karakteristika ove tehnologije je upotreba GDDR3 memorije Tier 1 proizvođača u koje spadaju Samsung i Hynix. Treća je korištenje Japanskih solid state kondenzatora snižene ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) vrijednosti, zatim korištenje prigušnica sa feritnom jezgrom te MOSFET-a snižene RDS(on) vrijednosti. Sve ovo bi trebalo rezultirati poboljšanjim vrijednostima overclockinga, snižavanjem gubitaka električne energije te smanjenjem zagrijavanja.

Kada pogledamo tehničke karakteristike ove kartice odmah smo spremni zaboraviti na slab bundle. GT200b na ovoj kartici kuca na impresivnih 715MHz što je za oko 13% više nego kod referentnog modela. Shaderi su pak ubrzani za nešto više od 10% pa na ovoj kartici rade na 1550MHz. I dok se nekome ovo možda i neće učiniti impresivno, ne smijemo kako je riječ o glomaznom i vrlo kompleksnom čipu (487mm2 te 1.4 milijarde tranzistora). To su otprilike vrijednosti na koje se mogu ručno overclockirati referentni modeli, no tada riskirate kvar i garanciju. Gigabyte pak garantira de će kartica raditi 24/7 na ovim vrijednostima. Ovo su postigli robusnijim dizajnom PCB-a i komponenata na njemu, te nečim što nazivaju GPU Gauntlet. Riječ je o procesu posebnog odabira GPU-a sposobnih za rad na višim frekvencijama.

Nisu stali samo na podizanju takta procesoru nego je i memorija ubrzana te joj je poduplan kapacitet. Za razliku od referentnih kartica čijih 896MB memorije radi na brzini od 1134MHz (2268MHz efektivno), Gigabyte je na svoju ugradio 1792MB koja radi na 1260MHz, tj. 2520MHz efektivno. To je za oko 11% brže. Teoretski bandwidth preko 448-bitne sabirnice je tako 141.1GB/s. Svakako će biti zanimljivo vidjeti koliki je porast performansi u raznim naslovima. Kod nedavno testiranog Gainwardovog GTX275 Golden Sample modela porast taktova je prosječno bio oko 4%, a porast performansi 3-4%. Ukoliko porast kod ove kartice bude veći od 10% to znači kako će opasno zaprijetiti GTX280 AMP! modelu s kojim ćemo ju usporediti.

Kao što smo već i ranije pisali GTX275, baš kao i GTX285 podržava DX10 API, 3-way SLI, Pure Video HD, PhysX i CUDA tehnologije. Na ovome modelu se kao i na Gainwardovoj kartici nalaze tri izlaza - DVI, VGA i HDMI. Ukoliko su vam potrebna dva DVI-I izlaza tada stvar rješava priloženi HDMI-na-DVI-I. Kao i na svim GTX275 karticama tu su i dva dodatna 6-pinska PCIe Power konektora za dovoljnu opskrbu električnom energijom. S obzirom na podosta podignute taktove biti će zanimljivo vidjeti koliko više električne energije ova kartica troši od Gainwardovog GS modela.
