G.Skill Ripjaws F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH - overclocker u duši

- Uvod i opis -
Uvod

Činjenici koliko je IT industrija ovisna o Intelovim potezima, u prilog ide upravo izlazak Core i7/i5 procesora. Baš oni su bili razlog prekretnice po pitanju proizvodnje memorije, koja je morala poći nešto drugačijim putem nego do tada. Izlaskom DDR3 memorije, na tržištu su prevladavale memorije deklarirane na 1.6-1.7V i više, jer bojazni oko oštećenja procesora tada nije bilo. Kada se to promijenilo (prisjetimo se, memorijski kontroler na Intelovim procesorima je po prvi put integriran upravo na i7 procesorima), proizvođači su bili prisiljeni okrenuti ploču u proizvodnji, tako da je u relativno kratkom roku od godine dana tržište memorije preplavljeno low-voltage memorijama deklariranim za rad na niskim naponima reda 1.5v. Sada se otišlo i korak dalje, tako da su neki proizvođači počeli s proizvodnjom memorijskih kitova koji rade na čak 1.35v (DDR3 memorija po JEDEC-ovom standardu radi na 1.5v). No, vratimo se mi na naš članak. Od G.Skilla smo na test dobili dual-channel kit deklariran za rad na niskom naponu, koji svojim stegnutim latencijama ukazuje da se ne radi o bilo kakvoj memoriji. Kit spada u novu Ripjaws seriju, koja uz Trident i Perfect Storm serije predstavlja sam vrh G.Skillove ponude DDR3 memorija. Kakvim se pokazao naš primjerak, pročitajte u današnjem članku.

 

Nešto o samim specifikacijama testirane memorije:

Opis

Kao i velika većina proizvođače, i G.Skill svoje pakira u jednostavno plastično pakiranje. Unutar kutije je kartončić na kojem možemo uočiti sve važnije informacije oko memorije, a to su deklarirana brzina, latencije, te napon na kojem dotična radi. Ono što je neobično za vidjeti čim ugledate memoriju jesu memorijski hladnjaci, tj heatspreaderi. Oblik dotičnih nema nekog dubljeg smisla osim estetskog. Kako memorija nosi dodatak Ripjaws u nazivu, takav oblik HS-ova pomalo podsjeća na ralje. Uz naljepnicu s nazivom obitelji iz koje dolazi možemo vidjeti i naljepnicu bijele boje koja nam odaje sve informacije vezane za ovu memoriju, istu onakvu kakvu smo mogli vidjeti na samom pakiranju.

Nadalje, kako je riječ o memoriji deklariranoj na 1.5V, temperatura ne bi trebala biti problem, a u praksi niti nije bila, pa ni pri većem naponu. S druge strane, nakon pomnijeg pregleda memorije, tj. heatspreadera, uočavamo kako oni ne nasjedaju najbolje na čipove memorije. Sjetimo se da su takve probleme su imali i ostali proizvođači, a glavni problem je u tome što nema veće kopče ili pak vijaka, koji bi jače fiksirali obje strane heatspredera na čipove. No, kako smo već spomenuli, Ripjawsi nemaju problema sa zagrijavanjem, tako da vas to ne treba brinuti.

Skidanjem heatspreadera smo, očito naivno, očekivali vidjeti o kojim se čipovima radi, no nažalost jedino što smo mogli vidjeti jesu neke generičke brojke pored G.Skillovog natpisa. Dakle, rebrandirani čipovi. Sudeći po naponu, da se zaključiti da je najvjerojatnije riječ o Elpidinim čipovima. A overclocking potencijal bi nam trebao dati pobližu naznaku o kojim konkretnim. Inače memorija dolazi u dvostranoj memorijskoj konfiguraciji - točnije sa 16 čipova po 128 MB naslaganih s obje strane PCB-a. I za kraj dosadnog dijela spomenimo još jednom deklarirane vrijednosti memorije. Dakle, radi se o modelu deklariranom na 1333 MHz, koji radi pri 1.5V, sa stegnutijim latencijama 7-7-7-21, te nešto labavijem CR-u - 2. Također, valja reći kako Ripjawsi imaju programiran jedan XMP profil, tako da je čitava stvar po pitanju konfiguracije istih još lakša. Dakle, memorija kao stvorena za i5/i7 sisteme, kako smo već spomenuli u uvodniku. Po pitanju garancije, vani G.Skill nudi doživotno jamstvo, dok od naših trgovaca možete očekivati garanciju od 3 godine - nije loše, ali nije ni bajno.
