Način testiranja i overclocking

Baš kao i kod zadnjeg testa procesora, i ovaj puta smo koristili iste ili slične testove. Matična ploča koju i inače koristimo je odlična Gigabyteova MA790FXT-UD5P a, procesor je hladio Noctuin NH-U12P hladnjak. Kako ne bi bilo uskog grla u grafičkom testu, koristili smo Sapphireov Radeon HD4870X2. Za usporedbu sa ovim procesorom smo koristili Intelov Core i5-661 model, koji je sjedio na Gigabyte P55A-UD4P ploči, dok je ostatak HW-a bio isti. Za potrebe testa smo taj Core i5-661 downclockali na Core i3-530, no nažalost prije nego li smo izvrtjeli sve testove morali smo ga vratiti. Zbog toga se pojavljuje samo u nekolicini testova. S druge strane, AMD-ove procesore smo usporedili sa najjačim Phenom II X4 965 modelom kako bi stekli dojam o općim performansama pojedinih modela. Usporedba sa modelima nije zanimljiva jer povećanje takta od 100MHz donosi prednost od oko 3% pa smo smatrali suvišnim pretrpavati ionako pune tablice.

Prvi na red za overclocking je došao Phenom II X2 555 koji ima otključan množitelj pa se lako poigrati sa taktom. Za početak moramo reći kako smo psihološku granicu napona za sve procesore postavili na 1.5V (ipak svi trebaju živi stići i do drugih redakcija), i tražili apsolutno stabilni 24/7 takt. 555-ica se zadovoljila sa 1.44V i zaustavila na 4GHz. Svako daljnje podizanje napona nije urodilo plodom, baš kao ni podizanje brzine sabirnice. Regor je sljedeći došao na red i tu smo očekivali sličnu situaciju kao kod Phenoma. Ovaj procesor smo naravno overclockirali podizanjem samo takta sabirnice i zaustavili se na 255Mhz pri 1.5V što je rezultiralo brzinom od 3.95GHz - sasvim solidno.

Procesori višeg TDP-a očekivano su postigli lošije rezultate. Iznenadilo nas je ipak što oba procesora nisu postigla bolje rezultate od prethodnika. X3 model smo digli na 245x15 (3.67GHz pri 1.5V), što je za 166MHz niže od prethodnika. X4 je pak išao do 255x14.5 (3.69 pri 1.5V), dok je predthodnik ugrabio 14MHz više. Razlika je naravno minimalna pa mu nije za zamjeriti kao kod X3 modela.
