Način testiranja

Sve hladnjake smo testirali u identičnim uvjetima, na istom mjestu uz istu ambijentalnu temperaturu koja je iznosila 22°C. Testna konfiguracija je bila na radnom stolu, ne u kućištu, stoga očekujte potencijalno više temperature ovih hladnjaka u zatvorenom kućištu. Koristili smo istu termalnu pastu sa svim hladnjacima - Arctic Ceramique. S obzirom da su svi hladnjaci dolazili sa vlastitim ventilatorima, s njima su i testirani. Aplikacija korištena za opterećenje procesora bio je OCCT 3.1.0. Umjesto automatskih postavki, koristili smo Custom test i to s idućim postavkama: Large Data Set, High priority u trajanju od sat i pol. S obzirom da smo hladnjake testirali na i5 750 procesoru bez HT-a, odlučili smo malo otežati situaciju, tako da smo hladnjake testirali na stock frekvencijama procesora - 2.8GHz (133x21, 1.2v), te na overclockiranim frekvencijama - 4.0GHz (200x20, 1.375v), što je već predstavljalo veći zalogaj za testirane hladnjake. Temperaturu smo pratili putem aplikacije Core Temp. Na grafovima nećete vidjeti temperature svih četiri jezgri, nego smo od svih odabrali najtopliju i nju uvrstili u graf. Valja napomenuti kako je najtoplija jezgra bila treća, dok su ostale bile za dva-tri stupnja niže. Load temperature su očitane nakon sat i pol punog opterećenja procesora, dok su idle temperature očitane 15 minuta nakon prestanka opterećenja. U BIOS-u su pogašene sve power saving opcije.

Kao što možete vidjeti iz gornjeg grafa, razlog zašto smo ih testirali na stock i OC postavkama je jednostavan. Core i5 750 procesor na stock brzinama/naponu i nije neki problem za ove hladnjake. U idleu vidimo vrlo sličan performans svih hladnjaka, dok manji Samurai pokazuje lagano kaskanje. Load lagano skida maglu sa idle temperatura. Prvim se pokazao Mux-120 koji je u vodstvu od 3 stupnja, za razliku od Kabuta i Ninje, koji su u stupanj identični po pitanju performansi. Očekivano, Samurai je zaostao na zadnjoj poziciji sa razlikom od 6, odnosno 9 stupnjeva u usporedbi s ostalima.

Prava zabava počinje upravo kada zakuhamo situaciju s višim frekvencijama i naponom procesora. Već su u idleu vidljive razlike između testiranih hladnjaka. Mux-120 je ponovno u vodstvu sa 2 stupnja razlike spram Ninje, te 3 stupnja spram Kabuta. Scytheov dvojac je opet rame uz rame po tom pitanju. Samurai ponovno zaostaje, ovaj put za 4 stupnja. Load nam pokazuje ono što smo slutili kroz čitavo testiranje - Mux-120 je itekako ozbiljan igrač, te debelo ostavlja u prašini Kabuta i Ninju sa čak 8 stupnjeva razlike, koji su ponovno rame uz rame sa stupnjem razlike u korist Ninji. Iako smo očekivali da neće uspjeti ohladiti 750-icu na 4GHz, mali Samurai je to ipak uspio i držao temperature u granicama normale.

Iz opisa hladnjaka ste možda zaključili što sluti. Ventilatori korišteni na Scytheovim hladnjacima se vrte na relativno malim brzinama, dok se onaj na Thermalrightu vrti ipak osjetno brže što mu naravno daje vidljivu prednost. Mišljenja smo da, kada bismo Scytheove hladnjake testirali s npr. ventilatorom korištenim na Muxu da bi rezultati bili dosta drukčiji. S druge strane, razlozi korištenja jednih ventialtora kod Scythea i drugog kod Thermalrighta su očiti. Listići na Scytheovim hladnjacima su naslagani u dosta većem razmaku, a time niti nije potreban onoliki propuh koliki je potreban kod Muxa koji ima znatno manje razmake listića. Očito je da su Scytheu performanse i tišina jednakih prioriteta kod izrade hladnjaka, dok su Thermalrightu, općepoznatno, performanse na prvom mjestu.
