Kako smo spomenuli, u testiranju smo koristili MaxxMem, alatku novijeg datuma, za mjerenje memorijske propusnosti. Uz njega, tu smo koristili i Super Pi kojim smo ujedno uz Blend test Primea testirali stabilnost. Pošto se overclocking same memorije zasniva na overclockingu baseclock frekvencije procesora, neku konkretnu usporedbu i neko stajalište iz gore navedenih grafova je teško dati s obzirom da se diže i sama frekvencija procesora, čime se mijenjaju svi rezultati. Eventualno da smo spuštali množitelj procesora i pokušali dobiti sličnu brzinu istog prilikom testiranja memorije. To ne bi bilo mjerljivo jer bi prilikom pojedinih postavki baseclock bio veći, a negdje manji (ovisno o množitelju i brzini procesora), te opet ne bi dobili usporedive rezultate. Npr. u vrijeme socketa 775 idealno je bilo testirati memoriju na nForce čipsetu radi Unlinked moda (nezavisni overclocking FSB-a i memorije), gdje smo mogli izvući neki smisleni zaključak oko različitih podešenja memorije u zavisnosti od frekvencije i latencija. S druge strane, još kada smo prije nekih godinu o pol pisali o usporedbi DDR2 i DDR3 memorije, pravila se nisu nešto posebno promijenila unatoč promjeni platformi. Ukoliko gledamo na dobitak u performansama kod overclockinga i dalje ćete u realnim situacijama dobiti bolje rezultate sa višom frekvencijom memorije i labavijim latencijama, nego sa manjom frekvencijom i stegnutijim latencijama. Izuzeće ide na čistu sintetiku i brojke gdje je oboje podjednako bitno, do jedne mjere. Za neki normalni rad, idealne postavke, odnosno zlatna sredina postavki na kojima je i današnji ECO deklariran, su 1600MHz pri CL7. Ako možete više, super, ako ne, nemojte forsirati veliku brzinu odnosno napon memorije za svakodnevni rad nauštrb stabilnosti.

 

Zaključak

Na testiranje smo dobili G.Skillovu memoriju iz ECO serije. Riječ je o dual-channel kitu od 4GB. Deklarirana je na 1600MHz, pri latencijama od 7-8-7-21, 2T i niskih 1.35V. Testiranje smo obavili na Gigabyteovoj H55-UD3H ploči i Intelovom i3 530 procesoru. Iako kombinacija nije idealna za izvlačenje maksimuma iz memorije na 1156 platformi, memorija je na našoj radila stabilno i poslušno. Maksimalna frekvencija koju smo uspjeli postići na zračnom hlađenju pri naponu od 1.6V bila je 2300MHz. Ovo svakako ukazuje kako se radi o odličnoj memoriji koja pokazuje zube čak i na malim naponima kao što je bio naš. Minus koji ne ide direktno G.Skillu jest trenutna nedobavljivost testiranog modela u našim dućanima. Situaciju smo istražili izvan naše regije te došli do zaključka kako testirani ECO spada u isti cjenovni rang u kojem se nalazi Ripjaws na identičnim deklaracijama. To bi se kod nas otprilike odrazilo u cijeni od oko 1200kn (165€). Obzirom kako najjeftiniji 1600MHz kit stoji oko 900kn, te nema niti približno sličan potencijal rekli bismo kako je u takvoj usporedbi ova memorija realne cijene. Ono što je žalosno vidjeti jest to da unatoč većoj ponudi DDR3 memorije u Hrvatskoj, domaće trgovine redovito nabijaju cijene memoriji, pogotovo onoj namijenjoj za overclocking, toj činjenici ide u prilog kako je jedan Ripjaws prije 6 mjeseci koštao oko 950kn, a sada isti takav dođe 350kn više. U svakom slučaju, G.Skillov ECO svakako zaslužuje našu bezrezervnu preporuku.

Conclusion

Today, we have tested G.Skill's dual-channel 4GB memory kit rated at 1600MHz at voltage as low as 1.35V, from ECO series. The consisted of Gigabyte's H55-UD3H and Intel's i3 530 processor. Maybe it's not the most ideal combination for 1156 platform, but the memory was working very well. Maximum frequency we got on air was 2300MHz at 1.6V. It certainly is clear that ECO is a great memory kit, and a great overclocker even on low voltages as these were. The biggest minus is that it's not available here in Croatia. We searched the prices online and learned that this kit is selling for about 105€ in Europe, just as the Ripjaws. In Croatian shops, the price would be about 50 euros higher; that means about 165€. Considering the price of the cheapest 1600MHz 4GB kit is about 120€, this is a reasonable price for memory of this overclocking potential. Sad thing about Croatian shops is that the prices are being held very high, especially with the the overclocking memory kits. For example, Ripjaws had price of about 130€, six month ago, now they are priced 180€. In any case, G.Skill's ECO certainly deserves our unreserved recommendation.

Negativno - Nešto lošiji overclock pri stegnutijim latencijama i default naponima, dobavljivost u našim krajevima.
