Montaža i način testiranja

Instalacija hladnjaka ne prolazi baš glatko kako smo to očekivali. Kod AMD procesora stvar je protekla bez većih problema, ali se zato malo zakomplicirala kod montiranja na Intelov LGA1156 socket. Prije montaže potrebno je u bazu hladnjaka umetnuti mehanizam za montažu. Riječ je o mealnom nosaču koji na krajevima ima kopče identične onima na Inelovim BOX hladnjacima (prednost je brzo i jednostavno kopčanje, no kopče su podložne habanju ukoliko se često koriste). Klasične kopče koje se sastoje od dva dijela pomične uzdužno po nosaču su i na taj način im možemo prilagoditi 775/1156 ili 1366 ležištima. S obzirom da je hladnjak poprilično masivan to nije uvijek najlakši zadatak, pogotovo ako je prostor oko ležišta popunjen northbridge hladnjacima (kao na testnoj ploči). Uz to, na obje platforme treba paziti da se tijelo instalira bez ventilatora. Montaža ventilatora je vrlo slična, no opet drugačija od npr. Noctuinih riješenja. Kada kažemo drugačija mislimo kompliciranija za izvesti, a ut to Scythe nije priložio nikakve silikonske (ili kakve druge) trake koje bi ublažile prijenos vibracija. Kod Noctue je svakako lakše kopče postaviti na ventilator i zatim ih kopčati na tijelo hladnjaka, dok je kod Scythea situacija obrnuta a samim time i kompliciranija. Kao i uvijek, orijentacija tijela je iznimno bitna jer bi ventilator mogao zasmetati memorijskim modulima, a uz to poziciju treba prilagoditi i ostalim komponentama u kućištu. Sve u svemu, nismo previše oduševljeni načinom montaže ovoga hladnjaka, i smatramo kako je to Scythe mogao bolje odraditi.

Testna konfiguracija je kao i uvijek bila na radnom stolu uz sobnu temperaturu od 23°C, kao i kod testa ostalih hladnjaka koje će te vidjeti u usporedbi. Termalna pasta je bila Noctuina NT-H1. Za opterećenje procesora smo koristili OCCT 3.1.0 sa sljedećim postavkama: Large Data Set, High priority u trajanju od dva sata. Rezultati koje će te vidjeti u tablici sa tvorničkim taktom procesora dobiveni su sa isključenim Turbom i svim opcijama za štednju el. energije. U drugom slučaju smo procesor overclockirali na ravno 4GHz pri 1.39V i koristili istu metodologiju. Temperature smo pratili putem Core Temp aplikacije, a na grafovima će te vidjeti temperature najtoplije od četiri jezgre. U gotovo svim slučajevima je najtoplija bila treća jezgra, a ostale su je pratile sa stupanj ili dva nižim temperaturama. Load temperature su očitane nakon dva sata punog opterećenja procesora, dok su idle temperature očitane 30 minuta nakon prestanka opterećenja. Sva smo testiranja odradili sa PWM kontrolom i potenciometrom postavljenim u HIGH položaj, a nakon toga i u LOW. Orijentaciju hladnjaka možete vidjeti na slikama, a ona u našim testovim nije bila presudna zbog činjenice da smo testirali na stolu a ne u kućištu. Način orjentacije hladnjaka koji smo mi koristili neće odgovarati onima koji u kućištu imaju ispušni ventilator u razini procesora. Tada će te ventilator morati postaviti na drugu stranu gdje će svakako zasmetati memorijskim modulima (pogotovo onima sa visokim heatsinkovima). Ukoliko pak drugačije orijentirate hladnjak znajte da je njegova širina tolika da će prektriti prva dva memorijska utora (samo za primjer, memorijski moduli sa Ripjaws heatsinkovima jedva stanu pod njega, dok na ovakve iz PI serije možete zaboraviti.
