G.Skill RipjawsZ F3-14900CL9Q-16GBZL - overclockerski san

S obzirom na novo nastalu situaciju, G.Skill je morao prilagoditi svoje blister pakiranje za dvokanalnu memoriju, pa je logično bilo module prikazati na jednoj i na drugoj strani pakiranja. U sredinu je između modula stavljen i do sada viđeni karton s osnovnim informacijama o proizvodu. Kao mali poklon, G.Skill je odlučio u pakiranje ubaciti i svoju malenu naljepnicu. Bitne informacije sa pakiranja su kako je ovo XMP certificiran RAM i kako ima lifetime jamstvo. Ne manje bitna je i informacija kako su moduli prošli quad channel testiranja radi kompatibilnosti s memorijskim kontrolerima.

Po uklanjanju modula iz pakiranja uočavamo koliko su RipjawsZ heatspreaderi drugačiji od RipjawsX-a. Malo su ispupčeniji, zaobljeniji, imaju više "mesa" i sa bočnih strana na vrhu zatvaraju crni PCB. Ispod memorijskih su čipova lagano svinuti prema unutra pa će to dodatno onemogućiti njihovo nenamjerno skidanje. Uz to, više "mesa", tj. aluminija pospješiti će i odvođenje topline s čipova. Kad smo kod toga, spomenimo kako su ovo dvostrani moduli, s po 8 memorijskih čipova gustoće 2048 Gbita sa svake strane. Tako dolazimo do ukupnog kapaciteta od 4GB po modulu. Memorijski su čipovi po JEDEC-u deklarirani za rad na 1676MHz pri CL11-11-11-30 latencijama i 1.5V naponu što je poprilično opušteno. No, ovi moduli imaju XMP profil u kojem piše kako su sposobni raditi na 1866MHz pri CL9-10-9-28-2T latencijama i naponu od 1.5V. Ovo će naravno biti dovoljno brzo za bilo koju X79 platformu, no ono što nas najviše zanima je koliko će se još moći overclockirati:)

Uz ovaj 16GB kit G.Skill još nudi i 8GB, 32GB te 64GB RipjawsZ kitove u quad-channel konfiguraciji. Brzine kreću od 1600MHz (PC3-12800), preko 1866MHz i 2133MHz do najbržih kitova koji rade na 2400MHz. Najbrži i najveći kit nosi oznaku F3-19200CL10Q2-64GBZHD te radi na latencijama CL10-12-12-31-2N pri 1.65V. Najbrži i najstegnutijih latencija nosi oznaku F3-19200CL9Q-16GBZHD te radi na CL9-11-10-28-2N latencijama i naponu od 1.65V. Biti će zanimljivo vidjeti može li i naš toliko potegnuti na višem naponu.

Sva smo testiranja ove memorije morali napraviti brzinski na posuđenoj Asus Rampage IV Extreme ploči, na koju se ovaj memorijski kit i vizualno odlično uklopio. Zbog potrebe brzog odrađivanja testa nismo bili u mogućnosti testirati dual vs. quad channel na ovoj platformi, a to nas je svakako zanimalo. Unatoč činjenici kako nabavka quad channel memorije nije skupa, tj. nabavkom ove platforme bio bi grijeh ne iskoristiti njen puni potencijal, razliku u performansama ćemo ipak provjeriti već u sljedećem testu neke X79 ploče.
