Iz Adate su nam na test stigla dva njihova M.2 SSD-a iz gamerske XPG serije proizvoda. Oba su 2280 uređaji, te imaju PCIe x4 Gen 3 sučelje. S11 je kapaciteta 240 GB te donosi brzine transfera od 3.2/1.7 GB/s za čitanje i zapis, dok je SX6000 kapaciteta 256 GB, a ima brzine transfera od 2.1/1.2 GB/s. Oba jasno podržavaju NVM Express specifikaciju u verziji 1.3, te imaju 5-godišnje jamstvo. Gammix S11

Gammix S11 je bliski rođak SX8200 M.2 SSD-a, te dolazi u 240, 480 i 960 GB izvedbama. Za razliku od njega ima ugrađen nešto deblji hladnjak, a uz to dolazi i u malo ekskluzivnijem pakiranju. U kutiji je dobro zaštićen u ležištu od debele stiro-pjene, a kupcu je vidljiv i kroz prozorčić ispod otklopne stranice. Uređaj dolazi s 5 godišnjim jamstvom koje je danas standard za ovakve uređaje.

Format uređaja je M.2 2280 D5, ima PCIe 3.0 x4 sučelje s podrškom za NVMe 1.3. Kontroler je poznati SM2262 kao i na SX8200. s Kontroler ima četiri ARM Cortex-R5 jezgre i osam NAND kanala. Uz NVMe 1.3 standard, podržava i LDPC ECC, RAID Engine itd. Kontroleru pomaže i 256 MB priručne memorije - dva su Nanya DRAM DDR3 čipa na svakoj strani tiskane pločice.

NAND je Micronov 64-slojni TLC koji donosi nisku cijenu po gigabajtu prostora, ali i nešto kraći životni vijek u odnosu na MLC. NAND ima izdržljivost od 160 TBW, tj. terabytes written. Proizvođač navodi brzinu sekvencijalnog čitanja od 3.2 GB/s i zapisa od 1.2 GB/s za 240 GB  model. Nasumične performanse su 200.000 IOPS-a za čitanje i 240.000 IOPS-a za zapis (za podatke veličine 4KB). Ovi podaci vrijede samo za najmanji 240 GB model, dok su veći 480 i 960 GB modeli i brži i izdržljiviji (320 TBW/640 TBW npr.) SX6000 Pro

SX6000 Pro je prvi M.2 SSD na tržištu opremljen s Realtekovim RTS5763DL kontrolerom. Riječ je o 4-kanalnom mainstream kontroleru namijenjenom DRAM-less konfiguracijama uređaja, koji podržava NVMe 1.3, 3D TLC i QLC NAND, LDPC ECC, tzv. pseudo SLC keširanje, pa čak i AES256 enkripciju. Po tim je informacijama odmah jasno da je riječ o uređaju namijenjenom širokim masama i ulazu u svijet M.2 SSD-a.

Disk ima jednostranu konfiguraciju - kontroler i dva TLC NAND čipa su na gornjoj strani, a naš primjerak je kapaciteta 256 GB. Uz ovu, dolazi još i u 512 GB i 1 TB izvedbama. Proizvođač navodi brzinu sekvencijalnog čitanja od 2.1 GB/s i zapisa od 1.2 GB/s, što su maksimalne vrijednosti za 256 GB model. Maksimalne nasumične performanse su 190.000 IOPS-a za čitanje i 180.000 IOPS-a za zapis (za podatke veličine 4KB) i to ponovno za 256 GB model, a životni vijek je 150 TBW. Način testiranja

Diskove smo testirali na Intelovoj novoj Z390 platformi, tj. ASRockovoj Z390 Phantom Gaming 9 ploči i s i7-8700K procesorom. Oba su diska radila u PCIe 3.0 x4 modu s NVMe driverima. Uz sve standardne testove koje provodimo tu je i simulacija četiriju situacija uz pomoć I/O Metera – Database sa 67% čitanja i 33% zapisa, Workstation s 80% čitanja i 20% zapisa, Web Servera sa 100% čitanja i File Servera s 80% čitanja i 20% zapisa, nakon čega ispisujemo broj izmjerenih IOPS-a. Savjeti za svakodnevnu operativu SSD-a pod Windows OS-om uključuju isključivanje stvari kao što su indeksiranje diska, zatim isključivanje prefetcha i Superfetcha te defragmentiranja koje je sasvim nepotrebno.

Na temelju izvršenih mjerenja performansi donosi rezultat u MB/s. Gammix S11 je ovdje pokazao premoć i brži je i od brzih SX8200 i od Hellfirea. SX6000 Pro se solidno drži, i tek je malo sporiji od direktnog konkurenta Transcenda 110S. I AS SSD i Cyrstal koriste nekompresibilne podatke no mjerenja im se ponešto razlikuju pa ih koristimo oba za usporedbu. Sekvencijalne su performanse po očekivanjima vrlo solidne i manje više onakve kakve proizvođač i obećava. Sve brojke pokazuju da je S11 nadmoćniji, pogotovo pri 4K sa 64 Queue Depth-om. I kod Crystala vrlo slične performanse, tj. odnosi između dva diska. I dok Gammix S11 još ima i sasvim solidne performanse, SX6000 Pro je loš u svemu osim u posljednjem testu gdje je nešto brži od DRAM-less konkurenta 110S SSD-a. Za one s većim prohtjevima bolji će izbor biti kapacitetniji SX8200 ili isti takav S11 koji vjerojatno ima slične performanse.

Zagrijavanje je velik problem za M.2 SSD-e jer je visoka temperatura neprijatelj elektronike, pa je ADATA za oba uređaja isporučila aluminijske hladnjake. Za SX6000 Pro je to iznimno tanak hladnjak koji temperaturu spušta samo za par stupnjeva pa se preporučuje koristiti neki deblji kao što smo mi (110 milimetara dug hladnjak koji dolazi uz Phantom ploču), pa temperatura ne prelazi 61°C. Gammix S11 dolazi s malo debljim hladnjakom no s njim se zagrijava do 66°C i na dodir je iznimno vruć. Kada na taj hladnjak postavimo još dodatni koji dolazi s pločom temperatura pada na prihvatljivijih 62°C. Ipak, na dodir je to i dalje vrlo vruće pa svakako preporučujemo osiguravanje kakve takve zračne struje preko SSD-a i njihovih hladnjaka. Zaključak

Gammix S11 je zamaskirani SX8200 s kojim dijeli sve komponente i performanse. U ovom testu smo vidjeli da je SX8200 brži no to je zbog razlike u kapacitetima, 480 GB model i ima tvornički bolje specifikacije. S druge strane S11 donosi deblji hladnjak koji nešto malo bolje hladi uzavreli kontroler. Ipak, koji god M.2 SSD odabrali preporuka je aktivno hlađenje. Ako imate ploču s hladnjakom za SSD, SX8200 ima nešto nižu cijenu i time je malo bolji izbor od S11 (S11 košta oko 70 €, a SX8200 oko 60 €). SX6000 Pro je DRAM-less M.2 SSD, što znači kako je vrlo jeftin i kako mu kod zahtjevnijih zadaća vrlo brzo padaju performanse. Baš kao i Transcend 110S, bit će vrlo dobar ulaz u svijet SSD-a i zamjena za bilo koji mehanički disk. Cijene su im vrlo slične, baš kao i 5-godišnje jamstvo. Transcendu ipak ide u prilog nešto niže zagrijavanje s dodatnim hladnjakom, ali i 50-tak kuna niža cijena (košta oko 470 kuna).
