Zaključak

GTX580 je GTX480 kakav je zapravo trebao biti. Radi relativno tiho, ne troši previše, ima vrlo dobre performanse te i dalje zadržava krunu najbrže single chip kartice. Sazrijeli proizvodni proces konačno donosi karticu pune Fermi arhitekture, a veća pažnja posvećena hlađenju donosi činjenicu kako napokon imamo high-end karticu koja ne buči i ne grije se previše. Performanse u igrama su vlo dobre i vidljivo je kako ova kartica puni potencijal može pokazati tek na 30" monitorima. Ne sviđa nam se susprezanje performansi prilikom overclockinga, i ne toliko činjenica da je skupa koliko činjenica da za oko 1000 kuna veću cijenu ne donosi veliki pomak u performansama u odnosu na GTX570. GTX570 stoga i dalje ostaje znatno isplativija kartica, koja ima vrlo dobre performanse uz manju potrošnju i manju buku. Konačan sud o best buy kartici iz high-end segmenta donijeti ćemo tek kada testiramo najjačeg Caymana iza Nove godine.

 

Conclusion

GTX580 is what GTX480 should have been. It has good performance, operates much more quietly, consumes less energy and it still holds the fastest single chip card crown. Matured manufacturing process finally brings a chip of full Fermi architecture, and cooling system got much better attention this time. Finally a high end board that is not loud and too much hot. As we have seen GTX580 has good performance and its true territory are 30" monitors. Things we don`t like are throttled overclocking performance, its high price tag and the fact that the big price leap in comparison to GTX570 doesn`t bring that big performance leap. GTX570 therefore is a better option, especially if considering it is a bit quieter and consumes less energy. There is still one card left to test in this high-end segment (HD6970) before we conclude which is the best buy card among them.
